In 2018, fintech startup Quantexa were transitioning their flagship SaaS platform version from Beta to 1.0. The software had been designed and built by highly skilled developers, but I was the first designer that they had brought into the team.
In order to understand the key user journeys required within the platform, I had to take on board a lot of information outside of my normal expertise. I spent some time with users, including the fraud team at Barclays, understanding how Quantexa could improve their processes around fraud detection and money laundering.
While I couldn't significantly change the journeys within the product, I was able to completely redesign the UI in order to help highlight key information and reduce friction.
I built the foundational design system which is still in use today, and after launch I helped in the hiring of a Head of Product Design to take on the role permanently. In 2025, Quantexa was valued at $2.6bn following a Series F fundraising round.
